Protect your Soybeans with Channel® Edge Offering

Every year, growers in different parts of the country deal with crop production concerns. In soybean, these concerns can range from seedling diseases like Fusarium to pests like bean leaf beetle. When growing row crops, we know that giving the crops the best start is the easiest way to help improve yield potential. This is where Channel^® Edge offerings can help (Figure 1). Channel^® Edge Offerings are new combinations of individual seed treatment products which are available in 2025 for Channel^® brand soybean products. Channel^® Edge (F) Offering includes the fungicides metalaxyl, penflufen, fluoxastrobin, and prothioconazole. Channel^® Edge (FI) Offering includes the four fungicides and the insecticide, imidacloprid.

With another mode of action compared to prior Acceleron^® offerings, Channel^® Edge (F) Offering helps protect soybean seedlings against Rhizoctonia and Fusarium. The product also provides protection against Pythium and Phytophthora. With the addition of the insecticide imidacloprid, Channel^® Edge (FI) Offering helps protect seedlings from overwintering bean leaf beetle adults and early season soybean aphid along with the previously mentioned four diseases.

Though Channel^® Edge Offerings can help reduce the impact of these diseases and insects, growers should continue to scout emerging soybean plants for these key seedling diseases and insect pests because of their potential to reduce emergence and yield potential. Usually, there is an opportune time for planting when soil conditions and weather are the most favorable. If seedling soybean stands are deficient enough to require replanting, the expense of replanting and the potential for lost yield because of late planting can impact potential profit. Protecting the seed with Channel^® Edge Offerings can help improve the potential for maximizing seedling emergence.
