On August 11, 2022, the Cincinnati Reds took on the Chicago Cubs in a regular-season game at Field of Dreams in Dyersville, Iowa — right where the 1989 movie Field of Dreams was filmed. It was a celebration of how the sport is woven into our nation’s culture and history — stitched as tight as a baseball.

The Rahe brothers were just boys when Hollywood came to town to film Field of Dreams.

Hollywood comes to Dyersville, Iowa to shoot the film Field of Dreams. The Rahe brothers, part of a longstanding farming family, are captivated by the event. Field of Dreams was released the following year, starting a phenomenon that lasts to this day.

The Rahe brothers began farming the cornfield at the Field of Dreams with none other than DEKALB brand corn, and have been ever since.

The first MLB at Field of Dreams game was played in Dyersville, IA. The Chicago White Sox edge out the New York Yankees 9-8, thanks to Tim Anderson’s walk-off homer into the DEKALB corn outfield in the bottom of the ninth. It was a national sensation and the most-watched regular season game since 2005.
