Bayer Advanced Launches 3-In-1 Weed & Feed For Southern Lawns

January 18, 2016

Breakthrough Innovation Kills Weeds and Feeds Lawns while Preventing Future Weeds up to Six Months, Including Crabgrass

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. (January 19, 2016)Bayer Advanced, a division of Bayer CropScience LP, today announced the launch of Bayer Advanced 3-In-1 Weed & Feed For Southern Lawns.

The new technology is the first and only homeowner-use product for southern lawns that feeds lawns, kills existing broadleaf weeds, and prevents broadleaf and grassy weeds for up to six months – including Crabgrass and Poa annua. The product is labelled for use on the major southern turf types: bermudagrass, centipedegrass, St. Augustinegrass and zoysiagrass.

“With this breakthrough innovation, consumers who are fertilizing their lawns can also ensure up to six months of weed and crabgrass control in the same application,” said Valerie Henshaw, head of marketing for Bayer Advanced. “By introducing a technology that provides this extended weed prevention to a weed and feed product, we help consumers save time and money while protecting and nurturing their lawns.”

Bayer Advanced expects the product to deliver strong value for customers – consumer research indicates that consumers are currently buying and applying up to four products to feed their lawns and achieve six months of weed and crabgrass control. Consumers can save up to 50 percent by using Bayer Advanced 3-In-1 Weed & Feed For Southern Lawns instead of purchasing multiple products throughout the season.

The launch continues a legacy of innovation for Bayer Advanced, which recently included Season Long Weed Control for Lawns as well as DuraZone® Weed & Grass Killer.

“We remain committed to our history of delivering effective solutions that make lawn and garden care simpler, more convenient and offer a better value,” Henshaw said. “By putting our science in the hands of consumers, we are delivering on our promise of a better life by allowing them to enjoy healthy, vibrant lawns and plants – while saving them time and money.”

The product can be applied in both spring and fall, in accordance with label instructions. It will be sold in Texas, Florida, Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Georgia, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Puerto Rico, South Carolina and Tennessee.
